Universal Standard, a size-inclusive brand of fashion-forward, high-quality clothing for women sizes 10-28, will be stopping in Dallas, October 18-21, as part of a two-month, 12-city tour. The Dallas visit will feature an independent trunk show, a model search in partnership with Lions Model Management, pop-up in collaboration with Nordstrom, and the opportunity to meet co-founders Polina Veksler and Alexandra Waldman for personal fittings, style tips, and insight into the brand aesthetic and philosophy.

The Trunk Show and Nordstrom Pop-Up offers women to see and experience the full collection in person. Exclusive items that are not available to purchase at www.universalstandard.com will be onsite to preview and pre-order. Shoppers can walk out hands free – all items will be delivered directly to the customer. The co-founders will also be in attendance for styling sessions, Q&A’s, and style tips. Plus, there will be a chance to win the new Fall Starter Kit.

The Model Search, in collaboration with New York’s prestigious The Lions modeling agency, will be conducted in each of the twelve cities through open casting call auditions for plus-size models. Looking for new faces and challenging traditional beauty standards, Universal Standard will be searching for women size 10 – 28 for their own future campaign. The chosen candidates will also be flown to New York City to meet with The Lions agency’s top modeling agents. The Lions is built on a non-traditional business model that looks beyond measurements to find clients who have unique qualities and work to develop their profiles. The boutique agency’s clients include Irina Shayk, Kate Upton, Cameron Russell, Stella Maxwell, and Karen Elson.

Fast Company claims that Universal Standard “may have just solved the biggest problem in plus-size fashion.” It has set out to change forever the way women above a certain size are seen – and the way they see themselves by changing the landscape of the plus-size market – a space currently dominating fashion, apparel, and industry news. For instance, Universal Standard is pioneering a program termed “Universal Fit Liberty” that provides size exchanges of items from the brand’s core collection for free within a year of purchase to accommodate women’s never-ending battle with fluctuating weight. The returned items are laundered and donated to charity. Because of this philosophy and the brand’s beautiful designs, Universal Standard has beenfeatured in everything from Vogue, Forbes, WWD, BoF, InStyle, Glamour, and hundreds of other publications.
